There is an active school council at the Chilton Foliat Primary.
School Council elections have taken place and the nominees presented their manifesto via video link for the whole school to see. This was a fantastic achievement in itself. All the contenders are to be congratulated for the time spent in preparation and the raft of fantastic ideas for how School Council, the Worship Council and House Captains can contribute for the benefit of the whole school community. In the unlikely event of any member not being able to attend school for an extended period of time, a body of supporting members have also been seconded to step in if necessary. Congratulations to our newly elected members:
Our recently elected members of our School Council, House Team Leaders, Class Councillors and members of our Collective Worship Committee for 2023/24 will have an important role to play in shaping the kind of school we all want Chilton Foliat to be: a school where everyone is valued, has a voice to be listened to, and is respectful of all others. At regular meetings, our elected members will be responsible for bringing ideas, information and suggestions taken from the class mates they represent, to work democratically, to challenge and change our school for the better.

It’s going to be a busy year. Ideas for School Council Projects for 2023 2024 already include:
- Children in Need
- Making links with other schools abroad and how to celebrate these links through Collective Worship and in class
- Engaging with the Eco School Education Programme and other local environmental projects
