Music plays an important part at Chilton Foliat – we love singing and it permeates throughout our school.
Music permeates through Chilton Foliat School. The children are keen and active participants in a wide range of musical styles and activities. We recognise the value of music in all learning and use it to embed knowledge across the curriculum.
Music plays a key role in our worship within school and the children are keen to lead and choose appropriate songs and hymns to support this.
Our non-selective choir is open to all from Year 1 onwards and love to perform both within school and to the wider community, including fetes, the Chilton Foliat community lunches, in church and to fund raise in the local supermarket.
From “I Sing Pop” to “Travelling by Tuba”, “Sing for the World” to “Apollo 5”, the children have, in the last couple of years, experienced music with professional singers, musicians and recording artists. With Chilton Foliat School being an active member of our Wiltshire Music Hub Cluster, we are able to work collaboratively with a wide Wiltshire school community in our locality to provide opportunities to sing and perform on a grand scale.
In addition to children from year 3 upwards being taught recorder and, opportunities to learn other instruments including guitar and piano, are available through our visiting peripatetic teachers. Please see letters below and make contact with them directly if your child would like to join any of the lessons.
We celebrate Christmas and the end of the school year with a whole school production. This involves us all performing.
Many thanks
